Megastar Amitabh Bachchan left the audience amused with his witty response on the quiz reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati, revealing that he would love his wife, actress Jaya Bachchan, to address him as ‘Saheb’ at home.
The light-hearted moment unfolded during an interaction with a contestant on the hot seat when Amitabh asked whom she had brought along as her companion to the studio.
The contestant revealed that her mother-in-law and her 10-year-old son, Daksh, had accompanied her. She also mentioned that her husband, Rahul, whom she affectionately calls ‘Saheb’, had wanted to join her but could not make it due to work commitments.
Curious about the title, Amitabh asked the contestant to clarify who ‘Saheb’ was. When she explained that it was the name she used for her husband, the veteran actor appeared amused by the tradition.
“You call him Saheb?!” the megastar reacted, expressing surprise at the affectionate form of address.
Taking inspiration from the contestant’s story, Amitabh then jokingly revealed his own wish to be addressed in the same manner by his wife.
“Tonight itself, as soon as I get home, I am going to tell Jaya ji to address me as Saheb too. I would really like it,” he said with a grin, entertaining the audience with his playful remark.
Known for his distinctive humour and engaging interactions with contestants, Amitabh frequently turns conversations on Kaun Banega Crorepati into memorable moments beyond the quiz itself.
His latest exchange offered viewers a glimpse of the megastar’s lighter side, as a contestant’s affectionate nickname for her husband inspired him to make a humorous request of his own at home.
