PM Modi Assures Rebel MPs at Breakfast Meet, Says ‘NDA is a Family, I Am With Every MP’

New Delhi, August 7, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held a breakfast meeting with 45 Members of Parliament, including several leaders who recently switched political affiliations and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), assuring them of the alliance’s support amid disruptions during the ongoing Monsoon Session.

The meeting was part of the Prime Minister’s outreach to NDA lawmakers, particularly those who recently moved from Opposition parties, including rebel MPs from the Trinamool Congress and the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction).

During the interaction, PM Modi expressed concern over repeated disruptions in Parliament, saying that frequent protests had prevented many lawmakers from raising issues and participating in debates.

According to reports, the Prime Minister assured the MPs that they did not need to worry about political challenges and emphasised that the NDA stood united as a family.

“The NDA is a family. We are with the constituent parties. I am with every MP, and not just one constituent party of the NDA. I stand with every MP of the NDA. You don’t need to worry about anyone,” Modi was quoted as saying during the meeting.

Those present at the breakfast meeting included 20 rebel Trinamool Congress MPs who recently merged into the Nationalist Citizens Party of India, seven former Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena MPs, including six who formally joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, 20 National People’s Party (NPP) MPs and two MPs from the Ajit Pawar-led faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

The Prime Minister also advised the MPs to study the history and traditions of Parliament and actively participate in debates to strengthen democratic discussions in the House.

He urged lawmakers to ensure that the concerns of their constituencies receive representation in Parliament and shared his own experiences from his political journey. Modi also advised the MPs to maintain cordial relations with Opposition members.

“Don’t get caught in Delhi’s web of narratives,” the Prime Minister reportedly told the newly inducted NDA MPs, encouraging them to focus on their parliamentary responsibilities.

The breakfast meeting followed a dinner interaction hosted by PM Modi with 37 BJP MPs at his official residence on Thursday as part of his engagement with party lawmakers during the Monsoon Session.

The outreach meetings are aimed at improving coordination among NDA members and discussing issues related to governance and parliamentary functioning.
