YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday launched a sharp attack on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, alleging that police and ruling party workers targeted YSRCP cadres protesting over the alleged DSC 2025 teacher recruitment paper leak and irregularities.
Jagan alleged that peaceful relay hunger strikes organised by the YSRCP across the state were being disrupted and demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the allegations. He also sought the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, the Chief Minister’s son, holding him responsible for the alleged irregularities.
In a post on X, Jagan questioned the government’s response to the protests, saying, “Mr Chandrababu Naidu, how low will your government stoop to protect your son? Is violence your answer to unemployed youth and your failed promises to them?”
The former Chief Minister alleged that a relay hunger strike in Vijayawada seeking a CBI inquiry into the DSC 2025 paper leak was attacked by a TDP MLA and supporters.
He claimed that protest tents were pulled down, stones, eggs and tomatoes were thrown, and women protesters, former MLA Malladi Vishnu and young participants were targeted despite the presence of police personnel.
Jagan further alleged that similar incidents took place in several parts of the state, including Chilakaluripet, Kanigiri, Yadiki, Tadipatri, Palamaner, Repalle, Guntur, Ponnur, Vemuru, Macherla, Gurazala, Kandukur and Bapatla.
“Protest camps were attacked, leaders were detained and unemployed youth were denied even the right to peacefully question your government,” he alleged.
The YSRCP chief questioned why the government was reluctant to order an independent investigation into the allegations and asked why party workers and police machinery were allegedly being used to protect Nara Lokesh from accountability.
Jagan said unemployed youth were demanding justice and listed their demands, including a CBI probe into the DSC 2025 paper leak and recruitment irregularities, accountability of the Education Minister, clearance of pending Vidya Deevena and Vasathi Deevena dues amounting to Rs 9,000 crore, and implementation of the promised Rs 3,000 monthly unemployment allowance along with two years of arrears.
“You may attack the tents, unleash your police and cadres and arrest the protesters. But you cannot erase the evidence, crush the anger of unemployed youth or silence Andhra Pradesh’s Gen Z. The struggle will continue until justice is delivered,” Jagan said.
The Andhra Pradesh government and ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) have not issued a detailed response to the allegations so far.
