Filmmaker Nikkhil Advani marked his daughter Keya Advani’s 20th birthday on September 5 with a nostalgic throwback video capturing a cherished father-daughter moment from her childhood.
Advani shared a candid clip of young Keya dancing carefree at home to “Badtameez Dil”, the popular track featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in the 2013 film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
Sharing the video on social media, Advani celebrated his daughter’s milestone and expressed pride in the young woman she has grown into.
“The doll turns 20 today!!! My dearest dearest daughter — ‘Dance always like no one is watching.’ So incredibly proud of the young woman that you have become. Full blockbuster loading,” he wrote.
On the professional front, Nikkhil Advani has enjoyed a career spanning more than three decades in Hindi cinema. Early in his career, he worked with filmmakers including Saeed Mirza, Aziz Mirza, Kundan Shah and Sudhir Mishra.
He later worked with Karan Johar at Dharma Productions and served as an associate director on films such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mohabbatein and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
Advani made his directorial debut with Kal Ho Naa Ho in 2003. The Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan-starrer went on to become one of the most popular romantic dramas of its time.
He subsequently directed films spanning several genres, including Salaam-e-Ishq, Chandni Chowk to China, Patiala House, Delhi Safari, D-Day, Hero, Katti Batti, Batla House and Vedaa.
His production company has also backed films such as Airlift, Satyameva Jayate, Baazaar, Lucknow Central, Marjaavaan, Bell Bottom, Sardar Ka Grandson and Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway.
