Raajkamal Films International, the production banner founded by actor Kamal Haasan, has issued a warning about an ongoing casting fraud and clarified that it has not appointed any casting agents for its films.
In a statement shared through its official social media account, the production house urged people not to respond to or trust emails, messages or social media posts sent by individuals claiming to represent the banner for casting purposes.
“This is to clarify that Raajkamal Films International has not hired any casting agents for any of our films. Please do not trust any emails, messages and social media posts received by you for this purpose,” the banner said.
The production house also warned that legal action would be initiated against anyone found using the Raajkamal Films International name without authorisation.
“Legal action will be taken if any party is found falsely using Raajkamal Films International name in any unauthorized manner,” it said.
Raajkamal Films International was established by Kamal Haasan and his brothers in 1981 under the name Haasan Brothers before subsequently being renamed Raajkamal Films International. Its first major production was the 1981 drama Raja Paarvai, which starred Kamal Haasan in the lead.
Over the years, the banner has backed several notable films, including Apoorva Sagodharargal (1989), Thevar Magan (1992), Virumaandi (2004), Vishwaroopam (2013) and Vikram (2022).
The production house is currently backing superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming drama Dharman. The makers recently announced that the film’s second shooting schedule had been completed.
Raajkamal Films International and Kamal Haasan shared the update on social media with the message, “Dharman 2nd Schedule Wrapped. Swag Mode: ON.” The accompanying clip featured Rajinikanth portraying a senior medical faculty member addressing junior doctors.
