The Punjab Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (PILBS), Mohali, in collaboration with The Art of Living, will organise its first Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on September 12, 2026.
The blood donation drive will be held from 10 am to 2 pm at the institute’s Blood Centre on the first floor of the New Diagnostic Block at PILBS, Sector 60, Mohali. The camp will follow a walk-in format.
PILBS Director Dr Virendra Singh urged eligible citizens to participate in the drive and contribute to the effort to save lives.
Highlighting the importance of voluntary blood donation, Dr Singh said a single blood donation could help save up to three lives. He noted that blood and its components are required regularly for routine medical procedures, ongoing treatments, complex hepatobiliary surgeries and the institute’s liver transplant programme.
Dr Singh said the Department of Transfusion Medicine at PILBS had been fully functional since receiving its licence. The department is equipped with advanced infrastructure and modern equipment for blood collection and separation of blood components.
Calling upon the community to participate in large numbers, Dr Singh said voluntary blood donation was an important public service and urged citizens to come forward and make a meaningful contribution towards meeting the healthcare needs of patients.
