Playback singer Kumar Sanu paid an emotional tribute to legendary singer Asha Bhosle on her birthday, remembering both her iconic voice and the person behind her extraordinary musical legacy.
Taking to Instagram, Kumar Sanu reflected on Bhosle’s immense contribution to Indian music and said her work would continue to resonate with generations.
Sharing a photograph with the veteran singer, he wrote that some artistes leave behind songs while others create an entire legacy, describing Bhosle as one of the rare artistes whose voice brought countless emotions to life.
Kumar Sanu also recalled feeling fortunate to have shared the same musical journey with Bhosle and to have known her personally. He said her presence would always be deeply missed, while her music would continue to live on.
Kumar Sanu and Asha Bhosle collaborated on several memorable songs during the 1990s and 2000s. Their notable duets include “Dekh Ke Yeh Roomal” and “Khat Maine Tere Naam Likha” from Bekhudi (1992), as well as “Mummy Daddy Meri Shaadi Karva Rahe Hain” from the same film.
The duo also worked together on “Mujhko To Kuchh Kuchh Hota Hai” from Tyagi, composed by Bappi Lahiri, and “Maina Bol Rahi” from Kanyadaan.
Several members of the film and music fraternity, including Sudesh Bhosale and Soni Razdan, also paid tribute to the legendary singer on her birth anniversary.
Asha Bhosle passed away in Mumbai on April 12, 2026, at the age of 92.
