Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra has expressed frustration with IndiGo after his luggage, containing his medicines and essential belongings, was left behind in Delhi while he travelled to Dharamshala.
Mishra took to X on Wednesday to describe the experience, saying he was informed after arriving at his destination that his bag had not been loaded onto his flight. He was subsequently told that the luggage would reach him via Chandigarh by evening.
“I’ve come to Dharamshala for the next few days, flying @IndiGo6E from Delhi. Upon arrival, I was told my luggage had been left behind in Delhi. Now I’m told it’ll reach me via Chandigarh by evening. All my medicines and essentials are in that bag,” the filmmaker wrote.
Calling the experience “extremely disappointing and frustrating”, Mishra directly tagged the airline in his post.
Mishra has built a career spanning several decades in Hindi cinema, working as a screenwriter and director on films known for their social and political themes. He began his career as an assistant director and scriptwriter on Kundan Shah’s 1983 comedy Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro and subsequently worked with filmmakers Saeed Akhtar Mirza and Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
He made his directorial debut with Yeh Woh Manzil To Nahin in 1987, earning the National Film Award for Best First Film of a Director.
His subsequent directorial credits include Dharavi, Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin, Chameli, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Yeh Saali Zindagi and Inkaar. He also directed the political drama Daas Dev and the series Hostages.
Among his later projects was Afwaah, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bhumi Pednekar, which was released in May 2023.
