Ahmedabad, October 27, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
Ahmedabad received 19 bomb threat messages on Tuesday targeting schools, courts, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) offices and the Narendra Modi Stadium, triggering security checks and precautionary measures across the city.
A cybercrime branch official confirmed that 14 of the threats concerned schools, two targeted courts, two referred to the AMC or the Mayor’s Office, and one involved the Narendra Modi Stadium.
One of the emails received by Shree Narayana Guru School carried the subject line “Warning! BOM|B Blast Ahmedabad Schools @ 1:11 PM”. Sent at 9.10 am, the email was addressed to three school accounts, including those of C.N. Vidyavihar and Shree Narayana Guru School.
The message threatened explosions at specified times and referred to educational institutions, courts, a municipal office and the stadium. It also warned people against travelling to Motera Stadium Metro station on November 21, the date associated with Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s scheduled concert at the venue.
The email included the slogans “KHALISTAN Zindabad” and “KHOON ka BADLA KHOON da”, purported to invoke the Khalistan National Army and referred to Babbar Khalsa. It also named several individuals. However, the authenticity of these claims and the sender’s identity have not been independently established.
The message further warned recipients against picking up iPhones found on roads, alleging that the devices could be used to trigger explosions.
Police personnel, bomb detection teams and dog squads were deployed at schools as authorities conducted security checks. Some institutions sent students home as a precaution and asked parents to collect them.
The AMC headquarters was also evacuated following a bomb threat, and checks were carried out at the targeted locations.
The incident comes amid previous bomb threats against public institutions and prominent venues in Gujarat. Investigations are under way to identify the sender and establish the credibility of the messages.
