A Baloch human rights organisation has condemned a Pakistani authorities’ order directing around 30,000 people from approximately 5,000 families to leave their ancestral homes in the Shoor Paarod region of Kalat district, Balochistan, by October 30 ahead of a planned military operation.

Paank, the Human Rights Department of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), warned that the proposed displacement raises serious concerns over civilian protection, human rights and indigenous communities’ rights to their ancestral lands, livelihoods and cultural identity.

The organisation said the affected families had lived on the land for generations and warned that forcing them to relocate could cause damage extending beyond the loss of their homes.

Pakistani authorities have reportedly ordered the evacuation ahead of a security operation, citing the presence of armed fighters and asserting that the area belongs to the government. Paank argued that security concerns alone could not justify arbitrary displacement or exempt authorities from their obligations towards civilians.

The group also questioned whether relocation camps could provide adequate shelter, heating, healthcare, clean drinking water and sanitation, particularly given what it described as the longstanding lack of basic facilities in the communities’ existing settlements.

Paank called for urgent scrutiny, transparency and accountability over the scale of the proposed displacement and the short deadline imposed on residents.

In a separate incident in Balochistan’s Kech district, Pakistani security forces have been accused of assaulting women and children and confiscating valuables during raids on homes in Gomazi and Sarnkan.

According to local sources cited by The Balochistan Post, personnel raided several houses in Gomazi, in Tump tehsil, on Sunday night and allegedly assaulted women before taking mobile phones and other valuables.

Reports also alleged that women and children were subjected to violence and mistreatment during questioning at the family home of Adnan Baloch and Adham Baloch in Sarnkan. Both men had previously been reported to have been forcibly disappeared.

The allegations concerning the raids and the planned displacement could not be independently verified from the information provided.
