The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed that more than 27 Pakistani military personnel were killed and several others injured in 15 operations conducted across Balochistan between October 20 and 26, local media reported on Tuesday. The claims could not be independently verified.

According to The Balochistan Post, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the group’s intelligence wing, Zirab, had been monitoring the movements of Pakistan Coast Guard Lieutenant Colonel Bilal Jalib. He claimed that BLA fighters targeted a vehicle carrying the officer with a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) on October 24, seriously injuring two Pakistani personnel and severely damaging the military vehicle.

The spokesperson also claimed that clashes broke out on October 24 when Pakistani forces advanced into the Gidar area. According to the report, he said the fighting lasted more than four hours, leaving five Pakistani personnel dead and over 11 injured.

In another incident in Kech district, BLA fighters allegedly attacked a military convoy with an IED before launching an armed assault in Cher Kuncheti. The group claimed that four personnel were killed and several others injured.

The BLA also claimed responsibility for an ambush near a grid station in Gurgina, Mastung, on October 26, in which four Pakistani military personnel were allegedly killed and at least six injured.

According to the report, Jeeyand Baloch said BLA fighters targeted soldiers advancing into Dasht Baba on October 25, killing two personnel. He claimed that the soldiers subsequently withdrew, leaving behind the bodies of those killed.

The group further claimed that it attacked a convoy transporting supplies to a military camp in the Sargoz area of Mastung. It also alleged that an armoured vehicle and another vehicle were targeted on October 20, resulting in casualties and material damage.

In Kalat district, the BLA claimed that two personnel were killed and several others injured when a convoy of military and commercial vehicles was ambushed at Chotank on October 22. The group also claimed responsibility for attacks on troops advancing through the same area on October 24 and a convoy on October 26, in which one soldier was allegedly killed.

The spokesperson further claimed that two personnel travelling on foot were killed in an IED blast in Kalat on October 24. In a separate attack in Khuzdar on October 25, three Pakistani personnel were allegedly killed and four injured, according to The Balochistan Post.

The BLA also claimed that three personnel were killed and several others injured in an attack on the Hazhdah Khol military camp in Nushki on October 24. Jeeyand Baloch alleged that a reinforcement contingent advancing through Reko was ambushed and forced to turn back. He also claimed that a BLA sniper killed a soldier stationed at a military post in Nushki.

In another development, the group claimed that its fighters blew up the main gate of a joint Levies and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) station in the Karkh area of Khuzdar, triggering clashes with Pakistani personnel.

The BLA further claimed that a bridge along the Quetta–Karachi trade route was severely damaged after its fighters targeted it with heavy machinery and set it on fire.

There was no independent confirmation of the casualty figures or the other claims made by the BLA in the report.
