Actor and content creator Elvish Yadav has emphasised that artistic ability remains more important than social media popularity in the entertainment industry, saying sustained success depends on the quality of one’s work.
Yadav, who features in the fifth season of the streaming reality show ‘Playground’, made the remarks while speaking to IANS during the show’s promotions in Mumbai. He was accompanied by Tejasswi Prakash and Aarush Bhola.
Yadav said that when filmmakers cast an actor, they look beyond their social media following and assess whether they see the required artistic potential in them.
“Art is everything in this business,” he said, pointing out that a film involves substantial investment by producers and the director also brings professional expertise to the project. According to Yadav, these factors make artistic merit an essential part of earning opportunities in the industry.
He urged performers to focus on improving their craft, saying that stronger artistic ability would ultimately lead to better work and the opportunities they seek.
Yadav has previously spoken about a change in how people perceive him. He said misconceptions about his personality had contributed to the creation of a “bad boy” image, but expressed satisfaction that the perception had gradually moved beyond those misunderstandings.
‘Playground’ combines gaming, entertainment, competition and influencer culture. The fifth season brings together young creators, gamers and internet personalities who compete in different challenges while navigating team dynamics, rivalries and friendships.
