AAP Govt has transformed Patiala with crores in development works: MLA Ajit Pal Kohli

Patiala, August 13, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Patiala MLA Ajit Pal Singh Kohli on Thursday said the Aam Aadmi Party government has undertaken extensive development works in the city, with projects worth crores of rupees aimed at improving civic infrastructure and changing its overall appearance.

Kohli made the remarks while inaugurating around 1.5 km of roads in Ward No. 60 at Dhamomajra. The roads had reportedly remained unpaved for a long period. Ward in-charge Rupinder Singh Koch was also present on the occasion.

The MLA said providing better basic amenities to residents and further enhancing Patiala’s historic and heritage character remained among the Punjab government’s priorities. He said development works covering roads, parks, sanitation, beautification and other essential civic facilities were being undertaken continuously.

Kohli claimed that the AAP government had prioritised public welfare and development during its tenure and said additional projects would be taken up in Patiala in the coming period to provide direct benefits to residents.

He also expressed confidence that the AAP would return to power in Punjab after the 2027 Assembly elections. Kohli said people were observing the government’s work and alleged that opposition parties had lost public confidence and had been rejected by the people of Punjab.

He said AAP workers were continuing to engage with residents and take the government’s policies and development initiatives to the people.

Kohli added that the government would continue working towards the comprehensive development of Patiala and would leave no stone unturned in improving civic amenities across the city.
