Saurashtra’s Aryan Savsani and Haryana’s Tanmay Baloda have been added to India’s Under-19 squads for the upcoming home series against Australia as replacements for Rohit Yadav.
Savsani has been named in the One-Day squad, while Baloda will replace Rohit in the Multi-Day squad.
Rohit, who had been selected for India U19’s upcoming fixtures against Australia in Rajkot and Ahmedabad, has been withdrawn following discrepancies in his age-related documents.
The batter, who was part of India’s Under-19 squad for the tour of Sri Lanka in July, has now been barred from participating in all forms of the game after documentation checks revealed significant irregularities in his birth records.
India will play three One-Day matches against Australia U19 on September 18, 21 and 23. The four-day fixtures are scheduled for September 27-30 and October 5-8. All matches will be held in Rajkot except the second four-day game, which will take place in Ahmedabad.
The 50-over team will be led by Uttarakhand batter Lakshya Raichandani, with Madhya Pradesh batter Yashbardhan Chauhan as vice-captain. Chauhan will captain the Multi-Day side, while Raichandani will serve as his deputy.
Aaryavir Sehwag, son of former India opener Virender Sehwag, and Anvay Dravid, son of former India captain and head coach Rahul Dravid, have also been included in the One-Day squad.
Anvay was part of the Sri Lanka tour in July and scored 87 in the second One-Day match. He is one of two wicketkeepers in the squad, alongside Rajat Baghel.
