A drone show showcasing the life, philosophy and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji was organised in Nakodar on Monday evening as part of Punjab Government programmes marking his 650th Parkash Purab.
The event was organised by the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs at the New Grain Market, where a large number of devotees gathered to witness the presentation. Nakodar MLA Inderjit Kaur Mann and Deputy Commissioner Varjeet Walia also attended the programme.
The show combined modern technology with spirituality and storytelling, using 500 drones to create aerial formations depicting the life and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji. His messages of social equality, compassion, social justice, humanity and mutual harmony were presented through the display.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Inderjit Kaur Mann said the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, was organising programmes on a large scale to commemorate the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji.
She said the initiative was aimed at connecting the younger generation with the eternal teachings of Guru Ravidas Ji and their rich social and spiritual heritage.
Mann said the government was organising Kirtan Darbars and seminars in educational institutions to familiarise young people with Guru Ravidas Ji’s life and philosophy. Documentary vans, marathons and other initiatives were also being organised to take his message to people.
She added that the foundation stone of the Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Bani Adhyayan Kendra had recently been laid. The centre will be developed over more than 10 acres near Dera Sachkhand Ballan.
Mann said the Nakodar event was the first drone show of its kind in the district and similar programmes would be held in other parts of the district in the coming days.
During the event, renowned Ragi Bhai Jasbir Singh Jalandhar Wale and his jatha presented Shabad Kirtan and Gurbani.
The district administration has scheduled further drone shows on September 8 at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar; September 9 at Shahkot; September 10 at Government Senior Secondary School, Randhawa Masanda; and September 11 at New Grain Market, Phillaur.
Among those present were District Planning Committee Chairman Darshan Singh Tahli, Municipal Council president Pradeep Singh, Market Committee chairman Jasvir Singh Dhanjal, Bilga Market Committee chairman Jasvir Singh Sangowal, Nurmahal Market Committee chairman Lakhvir Singh, Nakodar SDM Simranjit Singh, DSP Sarwan Singh Ball and BDPO Abhay Chander, besides councillors, block presidents, village sarpanches, panches and a large number of devotees.
