The Haryana State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested Inspector Kundan, Station House Officer (SHO) of Puhana City police station, allegedly while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.
The arrest was made by a team of the Bureau’s Palwal unit following a complaint alleging that the officer had demanded Rs 1 lakh to provide relief in a criminal case registered against the complainant’s maternal aunt’s son.
According to the complaint, FIR No. 126 dated June 24, 2026, had been registered at Pinangwan police station in Nuh district under various sections. The complainant alleged that his maternal aunt’s son had been falsely implicated in the case and that Inspector Kundan demanded Rs 1 lakh in exchange for helping him get relief from the case.
The complainant further alleged that the officer asked him to pay Rs 50,000 initially, with the remaining amount to be paid later.
After verifying the complaint, the Vigilance Bureau team from its Palwal unit laid a trap in accordance with procedure. Inspector Kundan was allegedly caught red-handed while accepting Rs 50,000 from the complainant. The bribe amount was also recovered from his possession.
The Bureau has registered FIR No. 39 dated September 7, 2026, under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act at the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau police station in Gurugram. Further investigation is underway.
The Vigilance Bureau said strict action against officials and employees involved in corruption would continue under its zero-tolerance policy.

The Bureau has appealed to the public to report any demand for bribes by government officials or employees in exchange for performing official duties.
Complaints can be made through the Bureau’s helpline numbers 1064 and 1800-180-2022, following which action will be taken according to law.
