Air Marshal (Retd.) Jeetendra Mishra will formally assume charge as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on Tuesday, taking responsibility for the administration and financial management of the Ram Temple.
The Trust appointed Mishra earlier this month after considering recommendations from a search committee constituted to select its first CEO. He was chosen from a pool of more than 5,000 prospective candidates.
Trust members, while announcing the appointment, highlighted Mishra’s more than 39 years of distinguished service in the Indian Air Force and his leadership experience, which they said would now be brought to bear on the institutional management of the temple.
Mishra was commissioned into the Indian Air Force on December 6, 1986, and is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy. He served as a commander during Operation Sindoor, described in the source material as India’s response to the Pakistan-sponsored Pahalgam terror attack.
As CEO, Mishra will be responsible for strengthening and streamlining the temple’s administrative and financial systems. His responsibilities are expected to include temple management, security, staff administration, facilities for devotees and coordination between various departments and agencies.
The appointment comes as the trust seeks to build a more organised and robust administrative structure for the temple and its expanding operations.
After his appointment, Mishra expressed gratitude for being entrusted with the responsibility, describing it as an opportunity to serve both the nation and Lord Ram and the temple’s devotees.
“My heart is filled with gratitude. I consider myself the most fortunate person today to have been given this responsibility twice in my life, once to serve the nation and now to serve Lord Ram, the temple and its devotees through its organisation and administration,” he said.
