Apple is deepening its technology presence in India, with recent recruitment focused on artificial intelligence (AI), data platforms, software engineering, cloud infrastructure, automation, Apple Ads, Siri language capabilities and manufacturing intelligence, according to a GlobalData report.
The report said Apple’s hiring activity indicates a growing focus on India for advanced engineering and operational technology capabilities.
“Apple’s hiring pattern suggests that India is playing a larger role in supporting Apple’s global engineering ecosystem, while also helping the company strengthen market-specific capabilities,” said Sherla Sriprada, Business Fundamentals Analyst at GlobalData.
Sriprada said the roles indicate that India is becoming more central to Apple’s global technology ecosystem, spanning software platforms, AI-led innovation, manufacturing intelligence and localised user experiences.
The Cupertino-based technology company posted several India-based positions during July and August 2026, with AI and data-platform recruitment emerging as a key area of focus.
Among the positions was a Software Site Reliability Engineer – AI & Data Platforms, tasked with developing and operating large-scale data platforms supporting analytics, reporting and AI/ML applications.
Apple also advertised for a Senior Software Engineering Manager – Manufacturing Intelligence, Agentic Systems & Physical AI, covering intelligent manufacturing systems, AI-powered applications, agentic workflows, robotics, machine learning and factory-edge systems.
The company’s recruitment activity also points to an expansion of software and platform engineering capabilities. Multiple Senior Software Engineer positions were posted, focusing on scalable backend systems, distributed architecture, ad delivery infrastructure and customer technology platforms.
Apple has additionally been hiring for cloud, data and automation roles in India. Positions including Data Engineers and an Infrastructure Automation Engineer highlight the company’s focus on cloud-native platforms, database reliability, data pipelines, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, observability and developer productivity.
Beyond technology roles, Apple is strengthening operational and market-support functions in India, with positions including Supply Demand Management Planner, PR Manager, People Business Partner and Executive Assistant.
The recruitment pattern indicates India’s expanding role in supporting Apple’s global technology operations while also developing capabilities tailored to the Indian market.
