Popular Telugu YouTuber Ramana Nandana was detained by police at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) here on Monday in connection with an alleged job fraud case involving promises of employment in the UK.
The UK-based YouTuber was detained following Lookout Circulars (LOCs) issued against her, her husband Jagarlamudi Madhukar and his father Mohan Rao after a case was registered in Andhra Pradesh.
Nandana, known for her YouTube channel ‘Nanadu’s World’, and Madhukar allegedly collected large sums of money by promising jobs in London.
A case was registered at Ibrahimpatnam Police Station in Andhra Pradesh’s NTR district on a complaint by Mamillapalli Sivakranthi Kumar, a UK resident.
According to the complaint, Kumar transferred Rs 15 lakh in multiple instalments to bank accounts linked to Destiny Consultancy, which was allegedly connected to Madhukar and Nandana. The money was reportedly paid for assistance with a UK visa extension, employment and a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
The complainant alleged that the promised visa and employment-related services were never provided and that a CoS document supplied to him later turned out to be fraudulent. He said only Rs 2 lakh was refunded despite repeated demands.
The FIR names Madhukar as accused number one, Ramana Nandana as accused number two and Mohan Rao as accused number three. They have been booked on charges of cheating and fraud.
RGIA Police are likely to hand over Nandana to Ibrahimpatnam Police later on Monday for further action.
Nandana has denied the allegations in a public video statement, claiming that neither she nor her husband owns or operates the consultancy. She alleged that their names were misused and described the allegations as part of a targeted smear campaign arising from personal disputes.
The couple has also approached the High Court seeking quashing of the FIR.
Nandana had a special cameo appearance alongside Nayanthara in Megastar Chiranjeevi’s film ‘Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu’, which was released in January 2026.
