Actor and content creator Aarush Bhola says he enjoys embracing change, both in his content and career, as it allows him to explore different facets of his personality and keeps his audience engaged.
Aarush, who is currently part of the fifth season of the gaming reality show ‘Playground’, spoke to IANS alongside fellow mentors Elvish Yadav and Tejasswi Prakash during the show’s promotions at a five-star property in Mumbai.
Asked whether change brings discomfort or comes naturally to him, Aarush said he actively seeks it.
“If there is change in everything then I enjoy doing it,” he said, recalling his early days as a YouTuber.
He explained that while audiences initially became familiar with his regular YouTube content, he gradually experimented with different formats, including short-form content, travel vlogs and behind-the-scenes videos.
According to Aarush, his transition from vlogging to reality television was also driven by a desire to let audiences see his personality beyond his role as a content creator.
“As a vlogger, you record others more. You record your surroundings. So, people can’t ascertain your personality,” he said.
He added that participating in reality shows offered him an opportunity to present a more direct version of himself because of the way directors, producers and other creative professionals shape the format.
“On a show, a director, producer, all brains work, and that’s how your personality comes up. I wanted to show that to people,” Aarush said.
He subsequently moved away from vlogging, appeared on ‘Rise and Fall’, and later explored podcasting.
“Now I do podcasts. All that should change only then the audience will enjoy,” he said.
‘Playground’ combines gaming, entertainment, competition and influencer culture, bringing young creators, gamers and internet personalities together in a virtual playground where they compete in challenges while navigating rivalries, friendships and team dynamics.
Season 5 of ‘Playground’ is streaming on Amazon MX Player.
