Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon on Wednesday said the country’s youth are the strongest force behind India’s social, economic and technological progress, calling for greater investment in their education, skills, entrepreneurship and employment opportunities.
Addressing young participants at an International Youth Day programme at the BJP headquarters in Chandigarh, Dhillon said the youth should not be viewed merely as the future of the country but as an active force shaping India’s present and future.
He said education equips young people with knowledge, while practical skills enable them to translate that knowledge into opportunities and livelihoods. He stressed the need to encourage young people to become job creators through entrepreneurship, startups, innovation and self-employment.
Flanked by BJP Punjab State Secretary Rakesh Sharma, Dhillon also highlighted the importance of responsible use of technology and social media. He urged youngsters to utilise digital platforms for education, innovation, networking and positive social change rather than allowing them to become sources of distraction or negativity.
Calling for greater youth participation in public and social life, the BJP leader said young people should develop a problem-solving approach towards issues confronting society.
He also encouraged them to remain resilient in the face of setbacks, saying failures should be treated as opportunities to learn, improve and move forward with greater determination.
“Think globally, but act locally. Every young person must have a clear vision for personal growth, career and social contribution,” Dhillon said.
He added that young people could make a meaningful contribution to nation-building through education, innovation, public service, good governance and responsible citizenship.
Dhillon said India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation would gain further momentum when its young population combines ambition with responsibility and converts ideas into action.
