Marking Independence Day, COLORS is set to premiere ‘108 Base Hospital – Uri’, a series that brings the lives and challenges of army doctors, nurses and medical personnel to the screen.
Backed by The Epic Company and A-Game Entertainment, the show follows medical professionals at an army hospital as they race against time to treat wounded soldiers, highlighting a different dimension of courage and service.
Erica Fernandes plays Dr. Major Naina, while Gashmeer Mahajani portrays Dr. Major Aniruddh. The cast also includes Nikkhil Khurana as Major Sameer Dixit, Ayoshi Talukdar as Dr. Captain Mili Banerjee, Hiten Tejwani as Dr. Col Suryakant Thakur and Smita Bansal as Lt Col Principal Matron Kavita Jha.
Talking about her role, Erica said she was drawn to the possibility of portraying a strong and empowered woman through Dr. Major Naina.
“What makes Dr. Major Naina even more inspiring is that she wears two uniforms in one; she carries the responsibility of a soldier and the compassion of a doctor,” she said, adding that the character is tasked with both protecting and healing lives.
Gashmeer said the Independence Day premiere made the project particularly meaningful for him. Describing Dr. Major Aniruddh as a character responsible for saving the lives of soldiers who serve the nation, he said playing the role was an “immense responsibility”.
He added that the series portrays courage not merely through acts of gallantry but through the everyday commitment to caring for people at their most vulnerable.
‘108 Base Hospital – Uri’ will premiere on August 15 and air every Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m. on COLORS and JioHotstar.
