Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway, who is expecting her third child, has recalled the demanding filming experience of her upcoming movie ‘The End of Oak Street’, saying she and co-star Ewan McGregor ended up doing far more running than they had anticipated.
Speaking on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, Hathaway discussed working with McGregor and director David Robert Mitchell, whose ambitious shots frequently required the actors to run across large stretches of the set.
Hathaway recalled that she and McGregor were still getting to know each other and remained professional during the first several takes. After about eight takes, McGregor asked her whether anyone had warned them about the amount of running involved.
She replied that no one had, after which the two decided to relax and enjoy the experience despite the demanding schedule.
McGregor also spoke about the unusual premise of the film, describing it as a family drama with a dinosaur element. He said the actors had to react to special-effects performers dressed in Lycra suits who carried sticks topped with dinosaur heads to simulate the creatures during filming.
According to McGregor, what initially appeared amusing became increasingly intimidating as the performers approached while he and the other actors were required to appear frightened. During one scene, he used a baseball bat and accidentally dented one of the specially constructed dinosaur heads.
The film also stars Maisy Stella and Christian Convery. Mitchell has written and directed the project, with J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, Mitchell, Matt Jackson and Tommy Harper serving as producers.
Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, Joanne Lee and Leeann Stonebreaker are the executive producers.
