Film director Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, has issued a public clarification stating that he has not authorised, launched or recognised any official fan club, association or community group in his name.
In a declaration shared on social media, Jason Sanjay identified the Instagram, Facebook and X profiles that he said were the only accounts owned, managed or authorised by him.
He warned that all other accounts, pages or profiles using his name, likeness or variations of his identity were fake. He also clarified that posts, comments, direct messages, business offers and other communications originating from unlisted accounts should not be treated as coming from him.
The director said he would not be responsible for the content or actions of such accounts or for any consequences arising from their activities.
Addressing claims by groups describing themselves as his official fan club or authorised community, Sanjay said none had received his approval. He urged followers to rely only on the social media profiles specifically listed in his declaration.
The clarification comes shortly after Sanjay made his directorial debut with the heist thriller ‘Sigma’, starring Sundeep Kishan. Ahead of the film’s release, he described himself as a debutant entering the film industry’s “vast ocean of talent”.
In a pre-release statement, Sanjay said he was excited about the film’s worldwide theatrical release on October 2, while acknowledging the expectations surrounding the project.
He said the team had worked to create an entertaining film capable of connecting with audiences across regional and linguistic boundaries. Describing cinema primarily as a medium of entertainment, he also appealed to viewers to support the film and his first step as a director.
