Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has posted a pointed message on his blog, apparently responding to people who may have threatened to stop writing about him, saying he is no longer dependent on them for publicity because his own “newspaper” now operates through the blog.
In his latest Hindi-language post, the veteran actor also reflected on the affection and respect he continues to feel for his admirers despite growing distances.
Bachchan began by explaining that he was writing in the morning after the date had changed from the 28th to the 29th, so that there would be no confusion in the numbering of his posts.
He then referred to an envelope received a few days earlier, saying its contents were being published. He added that seeing admirers standing nearby had always made him happy, and recalled that they had been dispersed the previous Sunday. Despite the distance, he said, his affection, love and respect for them remained unchanged.
The actor then made a remark that appeared to be directed at critics or those threatening to stop covering him.
“Don’t threaten me, my friend. If you stop writing about us, that’s absolutely fine. Our newspaper operates here now. You do one, and we will do a hundred!” he wrote.
Bachchan also made a playful reference to people of different ages and those who preferred sleeping more, before ending the post with a spirited message: “Go ahead! Bring your elephants and horses… We will bring ours too!”
The actor regularly shares personal reflections, updates and messages with admirers through his blog, which has remained a direct channel of communication with his readers.
