The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday issued an advisory for JEE (Main) 2027 aspirants, urging them to keep their DigiLocker credentials and other necessary documents ready before beginning the online application process.
The NTA opened the application process for JEE (Main) 2027 on October 24. The application window will remain open until November 22. The first session of the examination will be conducted in multiple shifts on January 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28, 2027.
In a post on X, the NTA advised candidates to complete three essential steps before filling out their applications.
“Dear JEE (Main) 2027 Aspirants, ensure a seamless start to your journey! Keep these three steps handy before filling out your application: Use your own DigiLocker/JanParichay credentials; Complete DigiLocker Re-KYC in advance; and match your Name & DOB exactly with your Class 10 certificate details. Apply with care and give your best!” the agency said.
According to the NTA, JEE (Main) comprises two papers. Paper 1 is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes, including B.E. and B.Tech courses, at National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and institutions or universities funded or recognised by participating state governments. It also serves as an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Paper 2 of JEE (Main) is conducted for admission to B.Arch and B.Planning courses across the country, the NTA said.
For the 2027-28 academic session, the examination will be held in two sessions: Session 1 in January 2027 and Session 2 in April 2027.
According to the examination schedule, the deadline for successful payment of the examination fee, including the late fee, through credit or debit cards, net banking or UPI is November 26.
The NTA plans to announce the examination city details for applicants on December 30. Candidates will be able to download their admit cards from the agency’s website until January 13, 2027.
