Television director Rohit Raj Goyal has praised his wife, actress Deepika Singh, for accepting his joint family and showing love and compassion towards his father, who has special needs.
Speaking on the reality show Pati Patni Aur Panga, Rohit became emotional while recalling Deepika’s decision to marry him when her career was at its peak and embrace the responsibilities of living in a joint family.
He said Deepika had accepted his entire family, including his parents, brother and sister-in-law, and made a special effort to understand and care for his father.
“Accepting him, talking to him and taking care of him, only Deepika does that,” Rohit said, describing his father as someone who needs special care and understanding.
Rohit also recalled the hurtful comments people had made about his family, claiming some had predicted that the children would never marry and might eventually be forced to beg.
He said the response to their wedding had been overwhelming, with many people attending the celebration, and credited Deepika for helping change those perceptions.
Deepika later responded to her husband’s emotional remarks, saying she had not expected him to share such personal feelings publicly.
“I was speechless because I had no idea he was going to share this. His family’s respect means a lot to me,” she wrote, adding that she was proud of Rohit’s achievements and the hard work and patience behind them. She also acknowledged the prayers and blessings of her mother-in-law.
The couple’s relationship began on the sets of the television show Diya Aur Baati Hum, in which Deepika played Sandhya Rathi while Rohit worked as a director. Their professional association eventually developed into a relationship, and they married in Mumbai on May 2, 2014.
They welcomed their son, Soham, in May 2017.
