New Delhi, October 15, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kirit Somaiya on Thursday alleged that Bollywood actor Imran Khan received funding from Pakistan and support from other countries to spread anarchy and destabilise India. The allegations came hours after the actor was reportedly directed to leave the country by October 28 over his participation in a recent protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

In a self-recorded video, Somaiya claimed, “American citizen Imran Khan, receiving Pakistani funding and foreign support, and such foreign citizens are spreading conspiracies to create anarchy in India.”

Welcoming the action taken by the Mumbai Police and immigration authorities, Somaiya wrote on his X handle, “I welcome Mumbai Police & Immigration Dept action asking Imran Khan to leave India by 28 October All such Foreign Citizens, Persons using Foreign Fund to create Anarchy in India should face such action.”

Somaiya had earlier filed a complaint against the actor and sought restrictions on his international travel until the Mumbai Police completed their investigation, expressing concern that he might leave the country.

Imran Khan, nephew of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, is best known for his performances in films such as ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’ and ‘Delhi Belly’. He is reportedly an American citizen and holds an Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) card.

Earlier on Thursday, the Mumbai Police issued a notice directing the actor to leave India by October 28 over his participation in an October 10 protest against the Chief Election Commissioner, reportedly citing an alleged violation of the Foreigners Act.

Khan had joined the demonstration at Mumbai’s August Kranti Maidan alongside his partner, Lekha Washington, and cousin, Zayne Marie Khan. The protesters were demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The three were briefly detained by police and released a few hours later.

Following the protest, Somaiya approached the Mumbai Police, arguing that the actor should face charges for participating in what he described as an “illegal political agitation” and for allegedly violating OCI provisions and visa conditions.

Somaiya’s allegations regarding Pakistani funding and foreign support have not been independently established in the information available.
