New Delhi, October 1, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, state BJP president Dr Archana Gupta and all BJP MLAs from the state in New Delhi on October 3.
The BJP has 48 MLAs in the 90-member Haryana Assembly. The meeting is scheduled for the afternoon, with the legislators expected to gather in Delhi before proceeding for the interaction with the Prime Minister.
While no formal agenda has been announced, sources said the meeting is likely to cover the political and organisational situation in Haryana, feedback from legislators and preparations for upcoming electoral challenges.
The meeting comes amid the Opposition’s campaign against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The exercise has become a point of political contention, with the Congress and other Opposition parties raising objections over the process.
Sources also indicated that the BJP’s preparations for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections could figure in discussions. The party has been stepping up its political activities in Punjab, with issues including drugs, law and order and security featuring prominently in its campaign.
The interaction also comes soon after an organisational reshuffle in the BJP, under which former Union Minister Smriti Irani replaced Satish Poonia as the party’s Haryana in-charge.
According to reports, the meeting was sought by Gupta after she took charge as state BJP president and was initially expected to be held earlier. The October 3 interaction was subsequently finalised following scheduling considerations.
The meeting is expected to provide the BJP’s central leadership an opportunity to hear directly from Haryana legislators on organisational and political issues and discuss priorities ahead of upcoming electoral challenges.
