Punjab Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat on Wednesday reviewed the progress of various initiatives and welfare measures for ex-servicemen and their families, directing officials to ensure the timely resolution of their issues.
Chairing a review meeting with senior officers of the Defence Services Welfare Department in Chandigarh, Bhagat assessed the progress of matters concerning ex-servicemen and reviewed the implementation of welfare schemes and facilities being provided to them and their families.
The Cabinet Minister directed the officers to ensure that all matters related to ex-servicemen are disposed of within the stipulated time and that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of government welfare schemes without delay.
Bhagat said ex-servicemen had dedicated their lives to protecting the country and that addressing their concerns remained a priority for the Punjab Government.
He emphasised that officials should work to ensure that welfare measures reach every eligible ex-serviceman and their family.
Principal Secretary, Defence Services Welfare Department, Sumer Singh Gurjar; Director, Defence Services Welfare, Brigadier Bhupinder Singh Dhillon; and Director, PESCO, Major General Harmandeep Singh (Retd.), attended the meeting.
