A first-year MCA student died by suicide at his residence in Sector Alpha-2 of Greater Noida, with police saying the reason behind the incident remains unknown.
The deceased was identified as Abhishek, son of Umesh Chandra, a resident of Nagla Khago under Patyali police station in Kasganj district, Uttar Pradesh. He had been living at a house in Block H, Sector Alpha-2, and had reportedly moved to Gautam Buddh Nagar about a month ago to pursue his MCA course through online classes.
According to police, Beta-2 Police Station received information about the incident on Tuesday. A police team reached the residence and found Abhishek’s body inside his room.
Police completed the necessary legal formalities, prepared a panchnama and sent the body for post-mortem examination. Abhishek’s family members also reached the spot after being informed.
Police officials inspected the scene along with a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), which collected relevant evidence. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the death and gathering information from family members, acquaintances and others who may have been in contact with the student.
Police said the reason behind Abhishek’s death has not yet been established. Further action will be taken on the basis of the post-mortem report and findings of the investigation.
The authorities said all necessary procedures are being followed and further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
