Megastar Amitabh Bachchan turned a lighthearted moment on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 into a piece of relationship advice, urging husbands to remember important dates in their marriages.
During a conversation with a contestant, Bachchan praised him for remembering the exact dates of both his first meeting with his wife and their wedding anniversary. The actor then humorously advised husbands not to forget their wedding anniversaries.
“Jitne bhi yahan pati log hain, ek baat dhyan se sun lijiye. Jis din aapka byah hua tha apni patni ke saath, sari duniya ko bhool jaiye, us date ko kabhi mat bhooliyega. Yeh bahut hi mahatvapurna tareekh hoti hai,” Bachchan said.
He added that wives often ask their husbands whether they remember their wedding date and jokingly warned that getting it wrong could result in “joota, chhappal, belan” coming their way.
The actor’s playful warning left the live audience laughing.
Bachchan, who is married to actor Jaya Bachchan, has also spoken about their relationship on the show. In another conversation, he said he informs his family in advance if a shoot is likely to make him late for dinner, joking that the practice helps him avoid being questioned by Jaya.
He also revealed that he takes responsibility for household chores when there is no domestic help at home. While admitting that cooking is not his strong suit, Bachchan said he sometimes asks Jaya to prepare something for him. According to the actor, she gets excited and prepares different dishes before asking whether he liked them.
More recently, Bachchan thanked Jaya on the show for making mango kheer for him after he stopped eating regular kheer.
