Additional Deputy Commissioner Geetika Singh has cancelled the licences of 10 travel, immigration and IELTS-related firms and companies in the district with immediate effect under the Punjab Travel Professionals Regulation Act, 2012. The action was taken after the firms failed to submit applications for licence renewal following the expiry of their licences.
Providing details, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said the licences had originally been issued to the concerned firms in accordance with the prescribed rules. However, despite the expiry of their licence validity periods, the firms did not submit applications for renewal to the relevant office, prompting the administration to cancel their licences.
The firms whose licences have been cancelled are Mayo MD, FA Educations, K IELTS Classes, Highline IELTS and Immigration Services, Stanberry Edu City Private Limited, Bullseye Migration and Education Services, VG Consultants, Sarao Services, Harsukh Education and Immigration, and Seerat Institute LLP.
Geetika Singh exercised the powers vested in her under Section 6(1)(e) of the Punjab Travel Professionals Regulation Act, 2012, to cancel the licences with immediate effect.
The administration also clarified that, under the provisions of the Act and the applicable rules, the applicants, firms, proprietors, partners, companies and company directors concerned will be individually responsible for addressing any future complaints received against them and for meeting the resulting obligations.
