Actor-politician Ravi Kishan is set to headline a devotional drama titled Mera Yaar Bajrangi – Dosti Ho Toh Aisi, which will arrive in theatres on Diwali 2027.
Mahaveer Jain Films announced the film’s title and release date on Tuesday, describing the project as a story about the bond between a devotee and God.
The first poster features Kishan in a restrained look and depicts a symbolic fist bump between an ordinary man wearing a rudraksha and raksha sutra and Bajrang Bali, adorned with a Shri Ram naam patka and rudraksha mala. A divine spark connects the two figures, reflecting the film’s tagline, “Dosti Ho Toh Aisi”.
A source close to the project said the film goes beyond a conventional religious narrative to explore the idea of friendship between a devotee and the divine.
“In today’s time, when everyone is looking for a true friend, what if Bajrang Bali himself becomes your yaar? That’s the emotion behind this film,” the source said.
Kishan will reportedly portray a devout common man from India’s heartland in what the makers describe as a new avatar for the actor.
The film is written and directed by Amit Aarryan and presented by Mahaveer Jain Film. It is produced by Mahaveer Jain Films in association with Ratpack Stories.
Kishan was last seen in Mirzapur: The Movie, alongside Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, Rasika Dugal, Shweta Tripathi, Harshita Gaur and Jitendra Kumar, among others. The film serves as an interquel set during the first season of the Prime Video series Mirzapur, revolving around the struggle for control of the crime-ridden city.
With its focus on devotion, companionship and faith, Mera Yaar Bajrangi – Dosti Ho Toh Aisi is scheduled to release during the Diwali festive season next year.
