Mumbai, September 19, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

High-voltage drama unfolded outside Matoshree, the Bandra residence of Shiv Sena-UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray, on Saturday as Satish Salian, father of late celebrity manager Disha Salian, arrived with his legal team to serve a Rs 500 crore defamation notice on MLA Aaditya Thackeray.

Salian was accompanied by a legal team led by Advocate Nilesh Ojha. The notice concerns recent social media statements allegedly made by Aaditya Thackeray and former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh in connection with Disha Salian’s death.

The area outside Matoshree witnessed a heavy security presence as Shiv Sena-UBT workers gathered at the gates and protested against Salian and his team. Mumbai Police closed the main entrance and deployed additional personnel to prevent any escalation.

Senior Shiv Sena-UBT leader and MP Anil Desai also reached Matoshree during the incident.

Former Maharashtra minister Anil Parab arranged a legal team comprising Advocates Rahul Diwate and Anil Jadhav, who came to the main gate to receive the notice on behalf of Aaditya Thackeray.

Following a brief standoff, Thackeray’s legal representative signed an acknowledgment confirming receipt of the notice.

Speaking to reporters, the legal representative said the notice had been accepted as part of the standard procedure but its contents had not yet been examined.

According to the notice, Aaditya Thackeray has been asked to issue an unconditional apology within seven days over his alleged social media remarks. In the event of non-compliance, the notice seeks Rs 500 crore in compensation for defamation.

Advocate Nilesh Ojha said the legal action was intended to assert Salian’s constitutional rights.

“The notice requires Aaditya Thackeray to issue an apology, failing which a Rs 500 crore compensation suit will be pursued. Everyone is equal under the Constitution, and we are invoking our constitutional rights to show that an ordinary citizen is no less than anyone else,” Ojha said.

Explaining why the notice was delivered personally, rather than through the post, Satish Salian alleged that representatives linked to Shiv Sena-UBT had attempted to intimidate his legal team.

“I wanted to show them that they (Shiv Sena-UBT) cannot intimidate us. Aaditya Thackeray’s associates threatened my lawyers, telling them they wouldn’t be able to enter the courtroom,” he alleged.

Before reaching Matoshree, Salian also told the media that he had pursued the matter for several years.

“Nobody can control me except God. It took six years because the lawyers took time, but I am satisfied that the police have registered the case,” he said.

The development comes amid renewed public statements by Aaditya Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray rejecting allegations linking Aaditya Thackeray to Disha Salian’s death, which occurred shortly before actor Sushant Singh Rajput died in 2020.

Aaditya Thackeray has previously said that he did not know or meet Disha Salian and has dismissed allegations against him as politically motivated attempts at character assassination. Such allegations have also been raised by BJP leaders, including Nitesh Rane.
