Actress Soha Ali Khan gave fans a glimpse of an intimate Ganesh Chaturthi celebration with daughter Inaaya Naumi Kemmu, highlighting an eco-friendly approach to the festival. Kunal Kemmu also joined the celebrations.
In a video shared on social media, Soha, Inaaya and Kunal are seen making and celebrating an eco-friendly Ganpati Bappa at home. Inaaya takes an active part in the festivities, including making a small Ganpati idol from clay, with Kunal helping her during the process.
The family also chose an environmentally conscious way to perform the visarjan ritual. Instead of immersing the idol in a natural water body, they placed the clay Ganpati in a tub filled with water and flowers at home.
Once the clay idol dissolved, the water was used to nourish plants. The video also shows Inaaya participating in the pooja with her mother as the family bid farewell to Bappa.
Sharing the video, Soha wrote: “From our hands to our home, and from our home back to the earth. A little Ganpati, a lot of love.”
Soha and Kunal have previously spoken about raising Inaaya in a multicultural and multifaith household. Soha comes from a Muslim family, while Kunal comes from a Hindu family. The couple married in January 2015 and welcomed Inaaya in September 2017.
They have also spoken about introducing their daughter to traditions from both family backgrounds while making parenting choices without allowing societal expectations to dictate their approach.
