Actor Sikandar Kher has praised his co-star Rajkummar Rao for his performance in the courtroom drama ‘Prahaar’, describing it as a career-defining role and expressing his desire to work with him again.
Sikandar plays Abbas Kazmi, the defence lawyer who represented Ajmal Kasab in the film. In a recent social media post, the actor reflected on the challenges of portraying the character and credited his co-stars and director for making the experience memorable.
Calling Abbas a difficult character to portray, Sikandar praised Rajkummar’s contribution to the film and wrote, “Abbas Kazmi by no means was an easy character to play. A man who took up a case going up against all of society and humanity for his land, his constitution, was a challenge to say the least. But when you have a team and a co-actor like @rajkummar_rao the job becomes enjoyable and then the magic happens.”
He went on to laud Rajkummar’s performance, adding, “I’ll be your screen partner anytime brother. What you have done in this film is not just a stellar performance, it’s a career defining one and I had front row seats to it.”
Sikandar also expressed gratitude to director Avinash Arun for placing his trust in him, crediting him with providing both professional and personal support.
“@avinasharundhaware, what can I say. Apart from being an auteur you have been a pillar of strength. Professionally and personally. Your belief in me not only as an actor but a person is something I will cherish and hold close to my heart till the end of time,” he wrote.
Describing the role as much more than a professional opportunity, Sikandar added that Arun’s faith in him was something he would always value.
The actor also thanked producer Dinesh Vijan for giving him the opportunity to be part of the project. Praising Vijan’s commitment to filmmaking, Sikandar said he admired the producer’s passion for cinema and felt a sense of belonging within the Maddock Films family.
“#DineshVijan, it was your faith in me that I got this opportunity. You continue to make great cinema and your passion to the arts is absolutely wonderful to see and be a part of. You’ve built a beautiful family in @maddockfilms and somewhere I feel a part of it now. Thank you,” he wrote.
Sikandar also reserved praise for another co-star, Lalit Prabhakar, whose performance left a strong impression on him during filming and after watching the completed movie.
“@lalit.prabhakar, you’re such a fine actor. From the moment I saw you step into that witness box on our first day of shoot I knew something special was happening. When I saw the film I was completely floored by your performance. Bravo!” he added.
Through his heartfelt message, Sikandar celebrated the performances of his co-stars while acknowledging the director and producer whose support helped bring the film together.
