Mumbai, October 18, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Akasa Air has extended the suspension of all flights to and from Saudi Arabian cities Riyadh and Jeddah until October 27, citing the prevailing security situation in the Middle East.

The airline announced the extension on Sunday through a post on social media platform X, saying the decision followed a careful assessment of the evolving situation. It reiterated that the safety and well-being of passengers and crew remain its highest priority.

Akasa Air said it was closely monitoring developments and assessing the situation in real time before making further decisions on the resumption of services.

To minimise disruption for affected travellers, the airline is offering passengers the option of a full refund or rescheduling their journey without additional charges.

Refunds will be credited to the original mode of payment within seven days, according to the airline. Passengers who booked through travel agents or other travel partners have been advised to contact them directly for assistance with refunds or rescheduling.

The suspension will remain in effect through October 27, inclusive. The airline has not announced a revised date for the resumption of services beyond that period.

The extension comes as security concerns continue to affect air travel in the Middle East. Akasa Air said it would continue to review developments and communicate any further decisions concerning its Riyadh and Jeddah operations.
