A 36-year-old man died after falling from the 12th floor of a residential society in Greater Noida West on Friday, with his family telling police that he had been struggling with depression, officials said.
The incident occurred at Ace Divino Society, which falls under the jurisdiction of Bisrakh police station. The deceased was identified as Anil Kumar, son of Santosh Kumar. He was a resident of the society and originally hailed from Prithvipur village in Madhya Pradesh’s Niwari district.
According to police, a team was dispatched to the spot after information about the incident was received. Personnel gathered details and completed the identification process before taking custody of the body.
The body was subsequently sent for post-mortem examination after the necessary inquest proceedings.
During preliminary inquiries, Kumar’s family told police that he had been experiencing depression for some time. However, the circumstances leading to the fall remain under investigation, and the family’s statement does not by itself establish the cause of the incident.
Police said further legal formalities were underway and that more details would emerge as the investigation progressed and the post-mortem examination was completed.
The incident comes less than a week after a 29-year-old man, identified as Sambhav Jain, died after falling from the 43rd floor of the Supernova building in Sector 94, Noida, on October 3. Jain was reportedly a resident of Manesar in Haryana’s Gurugram district.
Reports following that incident said Jain had been staying at the Supernova complex in an Airbnb accommodation. He was reportedly facing personal and family-related difficulties, including issues following his divorce and concerns over his child’s illness. However, those circumstances were reported as preliminary information.
Another suspected suicide was reported in Greater Noida last month, when a first-year MCA student was found dead in his room in Sector Alpha-2, under the jurisdiction of Beta-2 police station.
