Patna, October 9, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
The bodies of a young woman who had been missing for four days and an unidentified man were found on a railway track in Patna’s Kumhrar area on Friday, prompting an investigation by the Government Railway Police (GRP).
The woman was identified as Shaili Rani, a resident of the area near TPS College. She had been missing since October 5, when her family lodged a missing person report at the Kankarbagh police station after failing to trace her.
While the family continued searching for her, they received information on Friday that the body of a young woman had been found on the railway track in Kumhrar. Police reached the spot and subsequently identified the deceased as Shaili Rani.
Her death has plunged the family into grief, while investigators are working to establish her movements after she went missing and determine the circumstances leading to her death.
The body of an unidentified young man was also found alongside hers. Police are attempting to establish his identity and reconstruct the sequence of events surrounding both deaths.
Investigators are examining whether the two knew each other and whether they had been in contact before the incident. Technical experts are expected to assist in analysing the mobile phone locations and call details of both deceased to establish any possible connection.
Speculation about a possible romantic relationship has also emerged in connection with the case. However, police have not officially confirmed any such link, and the circumstances surrounding the deaths remain unclear.
The case is being investigated by the Rajendranagar Terminal Government Railway Police (GRP). The investigation is focusing on Shaili’s disappearance, the identification of the man and the events that led to the discovery of the two bodies.
Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
