Ludhiana, June 20, 2025 (Yes Punjab News)

Mr Parisdeep Aulakh, a dedicated student from the founder batch (2019) of the College of Horticulture and Forestry (COHF), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has made it to an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 172 in the highly competitive UPSC Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Examination 2024.

The UPSC-CAPF examination is among the most challenging and highly coveted competitive assessments in the nation, evaluating applicants on a diverse array of skills and knowledge, encompassing general studies, aptitude, and physical fitness.

Mr Parisdeep’s achievement exemplifies his steadfast commitment, resilience, and diligence throughout the years.

His journey from the classrooms of COHF to the national arena highlights the excellence of education and comprehensive development that the institution fosters. This milestone enhances the prestige of COHF and highlights the growing reputation of PAU as a distinguished institution that nurtures talented and versatile individuals.

Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU; and Dr MIS Gill, Dean, College of Horticulture and Forestry, congratulated Mr Parisdeep, stating, “We are delighted to witness one of our own students attaining such an extraordinary rank in the UPSC CAPF exam. Parisdeep’s accomplishment exemplifies the resolve and ethos fostered by COHF.”

While discussing his accomplishment, Mr Parisdeep inspired his peers and provided an overview of his journey to success, stating, “I commenced my preparation immediately after my graduation in February 2024.

The fundamental components of my preparation were self-study and adherence to a singular, authoritative resource for each subject, hence maintaining simplicity in my approach. I participated in the UPSC CAPF 2024 examination and achieved an All India Rank of 172.

The most pivotal aspect of the examination for me was the interview with the four-member panel chaired by UPSC member.

As the son of a farmer from the agrarian state of Punjab, and a graduate of an agricultural university, I was recurrently questioned about the agricultural issues in Punjab, and fortunately, I was able to address them all. I now anticipate serving the nation with the utmost integrity and honesty.”

The whole COHF and PAU community congratulated Mr Parisdeep for his exceptional performance and wished him a prosperous and rewarding career ahead.
