Ujjain, September 15, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
Ujjain is set to host a major three-day national-level gathering from September 17 to 19, with RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat and BJP National President Nitin Nabin scheduled to visit the Madhya Pradesh city.
The programmes will include the lighting of 25 lakh earthen lamps along the banks of the Shipra River and a three-day ‘Youth Dharma Sansad’ at Gita Bhawan, according to sources.
Nabin is scheduled to visit Ujjain on September 17, two days before Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s proposed ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ programme in Indore. The BJP president is likely to interact with young people in Ujjain and Indore, although the party has not yet announced the detailed schedule.
The visit will be Nabin’s first to Ujjain since he took charge as BJP national president.
On the evening of September 17, 25 lakh lamps will be lit along the Shipra as part of a ‘Seva Sankalp’, creating a major visual spectacle in the city.
There is also speculation that Nabin could hold a meeting with Bhagwat during the visit. According to party insiders and RSS office-bearers, Bhagwat’s programme carries organisational significance.
Bhagwat is scheduled to reach Ujjain on the afternoon of September 17. He is expected to hold a strategic meeting with RSS office-bearers and prominent workers and later address a gathering of volunteers from the Ujjain metropolitan area at the Mahakal complex in Arvind Nagar.
On September 18, Bhagwat will address young people at Gita Bhawan on Dewas Road and administer a pledge for nation-building. He may also visit the RSS office, Aradhana Bhawan, in Sardarpura, Indore, before departing on September 19.
The inaugural three-day ‘Youth Dharma Sansad’, being organised by Sevagya Sansthanam from September 17 to 19, is being described as the first event of its kind in Madhya Pradesh.
With the two national leaders scheduled to be in the city simultaneously, the administration and police have put stringent security arrangements in place. Traffic diversions and additional security measures are also planned, while preparations by the administration, police, RSS and BJP workers have been intensified.
