Chandigarh, September 16, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said the state will mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25-year journey in public life and public service on Thursday through the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’.

The month-long campaign will run across Haryana from September 17 to October 17, with programmes centred on service, public participation and welfare activities. The Haryana government has said the initiative will mark Modi’s 25 years in public life and public service.

Saini said Modi’s journey represented, in his view, leadership based on service and dedication rather than position. “It is with this objective that the nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ is being organised,” he said.

The Chief Minister also highlighted Modi’s association with Haryana, saying the Prime Minister had visited the state 18 times since assuming office and that development projects worth more than Rs 86,000 crore had been received during these visits.

As part of the campaign, people across Haryana have been urged to participate in the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme. Saini appealed to families to light a diya at their homes at 7 p.m. on September 17 as a symbolic expression of good wishes for the Prime Minister’s health and long life. The Haryana government has officially scheduled the programme for 7 p.m. on September 17.

“Let us light a diya for the Prime Minister and take a pledge for the nation,” Saini said.

The Chief Minister chaired a meeting to review preparations for the campaign and directed officials to ensure that the activities remained focused on public service.

Under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, Seva Camps will be organised at the block level as well as in Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and Municipal Committees.

Saini directed officials to resolve grievances related to beneficiary details under various government schemes at these camps and enrol eligible beneficiaries on the spot.

He also made it clear that services should be delivered at the camps themselves so that citizens do not have to make repeated visits to government offices after attending them.

The campaign will include a range of activities across the state from September 17 to October 17, with the Haryana government describing it as an effort to take the Prime Minister’s 25-year public-service journey to citizens and encourage participation in service-oriented programmes.
