The National Testing Agency (NTA) has invited Expressions of Interest (EoI) from experienced educators, researchers and academicians for empanelment as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
The initiative aims to strengthen pedagogical excellence, maintain academic integrity and ensure rigorous assessment standards for major national-level examinations conducted by the agency.
Selected Subject Matter Experts will contribute to various stages of examination development and assessment. The NTA is seeking professionals who can help create high-quality assessment material while ensuring that questions remain aligned with the prescribed syllabus and effectively evaluate candidates’ understanding and application of concepts.
A key area of responsibility will be item authoring and question design. The empanelled experts will also review and vet test items for conceptual accuracy, clarity and appropriate difficulty levels.
SMEs will additionally contribute to the moderation of examination content, helping maintain standardisation and neutrality in the assessment process.
The NTA is also seeking expertise in translation and transadaptation. Experts will be expected to provide accurate, culturally appropriate and linguistically sound translations of examination content into multiple regional languages.
The empanelment process is open to serving and retired faculty members, professors, school educators and domain specialists with demonstrable expertise in their respective subjects.
The deadline for submitting the Expression of Interest is October 9.
Eligible and interested candidates can submit their EoI through the official NTA portal at nta.ac.in.
