Actress Heli Daruwala, who is set to headline the upcoming film Love Lottery, says perseverance and determination have helped her progress towards her goal of taking on a lead role.
Reflecting on her journey, Heli said that major achievements are built through consistent small steps.
“It’s always the small steps that lead you to your big goals. Perseverance and determination have kept me going,” she said.
The actress credited her earlier projects with helping her build experience and industry connections. She described Undekhi on OTT as her first major step, followed by Ek Chatur Naar, which helped her expand her professional network and opened new opportunities.
“Eventually, that journey led me to a lead role. I am truly grateful for this opportunity, and I am motivated to keep doing good and bigger work,” she said.
Heli also spoke about working with co-star Akshay Oberoi, describing their on-screen collaboration as comfortable and effortless.
“Akshay is a very fun co-actor to work with. We were very aligned on our scenes, and at times it felt so effortless that I never felt like I was working with him for the first time,” she said.
Praising Oberoi’s acting skills, she added, “He is truly skilled at his craft, and it was an amazing experience being on set together.”
Love Lottery reportedly revolves around a married man whose relationship breaks down amid betrayal and mistrust. After his wife is murdered, he becomes the prime suspect and fights a legal battle to prove his innocence. The film explores questions surrounding men’s rights within the legal and social system.
The film also features Kabir Duhan Singh, Hemant Pandey, Vijayant Kohli, Indira Krishnan and Santosh Shukla. It is scheduled to release in theatres on September 18.
Heli’s previous work includes Love You Zindagi, Naagin 3, Dastaan-E-Mohabbat: Salim Anarkali and Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke.
