Actor Tusshar Kapoor has praised the devotional biographical drama Hanuman Ansh, saying the film’s simplicity, honesty and storytelling reminded him of the spiritual classics of earlier years.
Sharing a poster of the film on Instagram, Tusshar wrote that the movie was “a beautiful film that takes you back to your roots and even makes you feel like you’re in the presence of the divine!”
“I must’ve watched a devotional film after nearly 40yrs, but the simplicity, honesty and brilliance of the story and screenplay makes the old classics seem pale in comparison!” he added.
Hanuman Ansh has been written, directed and produced by Dr Vishal Chaturvedi under his banner, Swambhu Media Network. It is the first instalment of a planned trilogy based on Chaturvedi’s book Divine Detour: That Changed My Life, which chronicles the life of Neem Karoli Baba.
Shobhinaw Satyaa and Chandan Anand headline the film.
Set in pre-Independence India, the story follows the early life of Lakshmi Narayan, a young boy who leaves home following his mother’s death in search of God. His journey across North India eventually leads to his transformation into the spiritual figure Neem Karoli Baba.
The film was released theatrically on August 7 and, according to the source, emerged as a surprise blockbuster. Made on a reported budget of Rs 2 crore, it has been described as the eighth highest-grossing Hindi film of 2026 and among the most profitable Indian films of all time.
Meanwhile, Tusshar Kapoor’s latest project is Ahmed Khan’s comedy Welcome To The Jungle, which features a large ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Shreyas Talpade, Aftab Shivdasani, Mika Singh, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Sayaji Shinde and others.
The film is loosely based on the 2005 American film The Producers and the 2008 film Tropic Thunder.
