Patiala, November 2, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday accused the Congress, Akali Dal and BJP of joining hands to derail the state’s development, calling the political contest “One vs All”. Addressing a public gathering in Ghanaur constituency, Patiala, he said the traditional parties were uncomfortable because an ordinary family’s son was working for the welfare of every section of society.
“They have different flags and election symbols, but their intentions are the same. They cannot tolerate the fact that Punjab’s resources are now being utilised for the welfare of Punjabis rather than a handful of political families,” Mann said.
He asserted that the love and blessings of Punjab’s people were his greatest strength and predicted that voters would send prominent Opposition leaders home in 2027, just as they did in 2022. He also accused previous governments of exploiting the state and alleged that Akali leaders had sought shares in various business ventures.
Mann dedicated canal-based drinking water projects for two districts, saying they would provide uninterrupted clean water to more than five lakh people across around 90,000 households. He said the projects were particularly important for villages where groundwater had been affected by excessive fluoride and heavy metal contamination.
Highlighting his government’s education initiatives, Mann said the number of government school students qualifying for NEET had increased from 80 in 2021 to 882 this year. He also referred to the expansion of Aam Aadmi Clinics, the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana offering eligible families health insurance coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh, daytime electricity for farmers and increased canal-based irrigation.
He said the government was spending public money on education, healthcare, drinking water and agriculture, while Opposition parties were focused on political attacks. Mann asserted that Punjab’s future would be decided by its people rather than political families.
