Actress Ankita Lokhande and her husband, Vicky Jain, sought forgiveness for any hurt they may have caused knowingly or unknowingly as they observed Uttam Kshama, a significant day in the Digambar Jain tradition.
Ankita shared glimpses of her temple visit with Vicky on Instagram. Dressed in a traditional orange saree, the actress was seen participating in the festivities.
Sharing the pictures, Ankita wrote, “With a clean heart, we seek forgiveness for any hurt caused knowingly or unknowingly. Micchami Dukkadam. Uttam Kshama.”
Her Laughter Chefs co-contestant, actor Arjun Bijlani, responded to the post with a light-hearted, “Chal maaf kiya,” accompanied by a laughing emoji.
Uttam Kshama marks the first day of Das Lakshan Mahaparva, a 10-day period observed by Digambar Jains for spiritual reflection, prayer and fasting. The festival also focuses on ethical values, self-discipline and inner purification.
The celebration comes after Ankita recently hosted Gauri-Ganpati festivities at her home with family and friends. Television producer Ektaa Kapoor, who shares a close professional and personal association with Ankita, was also present.
In a social media video from the celebration, Ankita explained the significance of Gauri Sthapna and the traditions associated with the festival to Ektaa.
The Pavitra Rishta actress explained that, according to the Maharashtrian tradition, Gauri Maa is welcomed into her maternal home during the festival. After spending time there, she returns along with her son, Lord Ganesha, with Gauri-Ganpati Visarjan marking the conclusion of the festivities.
