Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday congratulated the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) after the student organisation won three of the four posts in the 2026 Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections, saying the result reflected the youth’s “unwavering faith” in its “Nation First” ideology.
In a post on X, Shah congratulated ABVP workers on what he described as a “splendid victory” in the DUSU elections.
He said the result reflected the youth’s faith in the organisation’s “Nation First” ideology and its commitment to student welfare.
Shah also expressed confidence that ABVP workers would draw renewed energy from the victory and, following the ideals of Swami Vivekananda, continue working for student interests and nation-building.
Several other Union ministers and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders also congratulated ABVP on its performance.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh described the victory as a “symbol of the unwavering faith of the youth” in the “Nation First” policy. He congratulated ABVP workers and said he was confident that the organisation would continue working with dedication towards student interests, national service and nation-building.
BJP president Nitin Nabin said the result reflected what he described as the youth’s continued faith in positive and constructive student politics rooted in the “Nation First” spirit. He also said it demonstrated their resolve to contribute to the vision of a “Viksit Bharat”.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said the ABVP victory reflected, in his view, that youth and Gen Z across the country would not accept what he described as the Opposition’s “lies”.
The DUSU election result triggered a series of congratulatory messages from BJP leaders, with the outcome being framed by them as an expression of youth support for ABVP’s political and organisational approach.
