Veteran actors Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar have showered praise on their daughter, actress Shriya Pilgaonkar, congratulating her on her back-to-back theatrical releases Mirzapur: The Movie and Haiwaan.
Sharing glimpses from the two films on Instagram, the proud parents wrote in a joint post, “Sweety actually love hai humara… Loved watching you shine on the big screen cheeyu. So proud of your 2 big theatricals and the response… Congrats to the team of Mirzapur and looking forward to Haiwaan. Keep up the hard work.”
The post also featured a clip of Sachin and Supriya enjoying themselves at a cinema, apparently while watching Mirzapur: The Movie.
They added a heartfelt message in Marathi, wishing Shriya continued happiness and encouraging her to keep working hard while remaining cheerful.
Shriya responded to her parents’ affectionate message with “Love youuuuuu,” accompanied by a red heart, evil eye and clapperboard emojis.
Meanwhile, Shriya recently came out in support of her father amid criticism he has received on social media. Speaking to IANS, she said people often fail to recognise the depth and breadth of experience Sachin brings after more than six decades in the film industry.
“He has more than 60 years of experience in the film industry and people are just not aware of the range and scale of experiences he has,” Shriya said.
She added that sharing anecdotes from his long career is natural when he is invited to speak about his experiences.
“In a setup where somebody is asked, of course you are going to share your experiences. I feel like the love is so much that there is no space for negativity,” she said.
Shriya has appeared in several films and web series and is now receiving attention for her work in Mirzapur: The Movie, while Haiwaan marks another major theatrical outing for the actress.
